STACEY'S STORY

Hi! This is Sammy and Sugar. They are my co-therapists, if you like dogs. They also enjoy time off of work, if you aren't into dogs.

Becoming a therapist was not my first calling in life. I spent my entire 20s traveling and gaining valuable life experiences and getting to know me. I was over 30 when I finally committed to spending the next 6-7 years of my life in school and training. But I knew it was the right decision, so I dove in, head first.

Right before I finished my Masters program, I had relocated from Saint Andrews, NB to Whitehorse, Yukon. I spent 7 years there, working with children, youth and adults in all capacities: group homes, detox centers, schools, community centers, First Nations Offices, private homes, correctional centers, etc. I loved the work, and I loved the North but the East Coast called me home.

I returned back to NB in 2018, and I enjoy working with teens and adults in a client-centered environment, using modalities such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Relational Therapy. I am  trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is a technique that can be very helpful in helping clients manage their somatic (body) reactions to trauma. (www.acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com). I have extensive experiences working in the Veteran and complex trauma population, with training and experience in ketamine-assisted therapy.

I am also certified to use a type of acupuncture called the NADA protocol for treatment of depression and anxiety.

I have a lot of experience in complex trauma, PTSD, and sexual violence and this technique has been particularly helpful, in conjunction with other modalities and tools.

My experience has been centered around trauma work. I am here to offer you tools to help alleviate the pain of past traumas, but I am also here to accompany you on your healing journey through the pain, if you're ready. I value honesty and hope you do too!

If you’re suffering, I want to help you to suffer less. If you feel lost, I am here to assist and guide you. If you need a hand rebuilding, I’m here to walk beside you. I look forward to meeting you.
